The Typical Flow of Effectiveness Coaching

  1. Start (F: Feedback): The coach listens to the coachee's challenge. They use the ABC Framework to break the problem down: "What was the Antecedent? What was the specific Behavior? What was the Consequence?"
  2. Internalization (3S): The coachee activates their Self-awareness (S) to see the ABC pattern objectively.
  3. Reframing (O: Opportunity & R: Reframe): The coach uses the ABC analysis to help the coachee see the opportunity (O) to change the ineffective B. They then help set a new, effective B as the action plan (R).
  4. Sustaining (M: Move forward & 3S): As the coachee tries the new behavior (M), they engage in Self-reflection (S) to evaluate the new A  New B  New C pattern, ensuring the change sticks.

In short, ABC defines the "WHAT" to change, and 3S-FORM provides the "HOW" (the process and internal drive) to change it.
